Symbol Story Rollers (Set of 4)

Aboriginal Symbol Story Rollers | Set of 4

Bring storytelling, culture and creativity into hands on learning with our Deadly Ed Aboriginal Symbol Story Rollers.

This set of four story rollers has been designed to introduce children to Aboriginal symbols and storytelling through play. Each roller explores a different theme, Hunting, Gathering, Animal Tracks and Country, allowing children to roll patterns into playdough or clay and use the symbols they create to develop their own stories.

The four themes encourage children to explore different elements of Aboriginal culture, connection to Country and traditional ways of life.

Hunting
Features symbols connected to traditional hunting, tools, movement and the ways Aboriginal people have sourced food from Country.

Gathering
Explores symbols associated with gathering, bush foods, people and the important role of collecting and sharing resources from Country.

Animal Tracks
Introduces children to different animal tracks and encourages them to think about the animals that live on Country, how they move and how Aboriginal people read and understand tracks.

Country
Features symbols representing Country, waterways, meeting places, journeys and connection, encouraging conversations about the importance of caring for and connecting with Country.

Perfect for playdough, clay and other sensory experiences, the rollers provide an engaging way for children to create patterns, tell stories and explore Aboriginal perspectives through play.

The Symbol Story Rollers support learning about Aboriginal symbols and storytelling, connection to Country and culture, creative play, oral language, fine motor development, pattern recognition and collaborative learning.

Designed as an educational resource, the rollers are perfect for early learning services, primary classrooms, cultural learning activities and play at home.

Children can use one roller to inspire a story or combine all four themes to create their own story about people, animals, journeys and Country.
